Her birthplace was Roswell on March 29, 1985. Gerina Michel Mendoza is her name at birth. Gerina Stevenson, the child of Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson and Alan Stevenson. She has Mexican heritage, but is American as a national. Since her early years, her desire to be active in sports was strong. Gerina began playing golf when she was 15. Gerina went to Goddard High School for her high school education. While she was in high school, she took home at the New Mexico state golf tournament. In addition, she was a volleyball player at the state level. She attended an institution called the University of Texas in 2003. She took home all the competitions she participated in during her senior years. Through her college career, she won her the Conference USA Individual Champion Player of the Year Award and UTEP Female athlete of the Year.
